Located in the emerging Logan Square neighborhood, Logan Apartment’s hip, artistic vibe allowed us to diversify from glassy, high-rise buildings and deliver a highly activated masonry project to one of Chicago’s hottest neighborhoods.
Originally contemplated with significantly more retail space, we redesigned the project to feasibly include 220 upscale apartments and secure a 27,000 SF Target at the base of the building. Target will provide a new grocery offering to the neighborhood, and there will be an additional 37,000 SF of shops, services and restaurants.
The project will support local businesses through the curation of textiles, furniture and art for the amenity spaces, and bring in Chicago-based businesses and restaurateurs for the additional retail components. Logan encompasses two modern brick buildings, five and six stories, connected by a skybridge. We designed Logan to fit the specifications and character of the neighborhood, with ta brick facade, wall murals painted by local artists, and neighborhood art projects. Logan also provides an opportunity for institutional partners to invest in a submarket with higher barriers to development than other submarkets.
