Joe Young

As Controller at Fifield, Joe brings almost ten years of dedicated leadership to the firm’s financial operations. He is responsible for managing complex partnership tax returns, ensuring full compliance with audit requirements, and overseeing fund financial reporting and treasury management. Joe also collaborates closely with leadership on operational reporting for Fifield’s stabilized assets, driving process improvements, enhancing financial controls, and supporting strategic decision-making across the portfolio.

Prior to joining Fifield, Joe spent four years leading the accounting and reporting functions for The X Company, a Chicago-based start-up developer that executed over $1 billion in construction activity across six markets. He began his career as an Assistant Controller at Waste Connections, where he provided strategic financial oversight for multiple high-revenue operating locations throughout Minnesota.

Joe earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was also a member of the Tommie football team. Outside of work, he lives in Chicago’s Lakeshore East neighborhood and enjoys golfing on the weekends and going for walks on the trail with his wife and their two dogs.
